Texting does not use your cell phone or your personal number; texting programs run in a browser on your computer. There are several texting programs used by the organizations listed below, and each is a little different.
NextGen America (a.k.a. NextGen Organizing)
NextGen is a diverse coalition of young people, organized to take power by winning elections for progressive candidates. In 2020, they are fighting to take back the White House, the U.S. Senate, and state legislatures by turning out young voters.
In addition to the national organization, there are NextGen chapters in several states, e.g. NextGen PA, NextGen WI, etc.
NextGen will provide you with links for training, logging on to Slack and ThruText, and all the resources you will need for texting. Unlike some organizations, you will not find texting campaigns in their Slack workspace. Use the link above to find and sign up for texting campaigns.
